Timothy W. Borruel

Co-Founder/ Superintendent

Formerly a high school teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator in the William S. Hart School District, Tim is the founder and developer of Legacy Christian Academy. Together with his wife Donna, Tim developed the acclaimed Sunshine Child Care programs. The organization later expanded into the establishment of Legacy, an exceptional private school choice for SCV families. Affectionately called "Coach," Tim has provided leadership and operational expertise to each of these premier educational programs for the past 30 years. Dedicated to the students of today and tomorrow, he cultivates his team members to groom the next generation of leaders. Tim earned a Master of Science in Education with honors and holds teaching and administrative credentials.

Donna Borruel

Co-Founder/ Educational Oversight

As an experienced teacher in the Sulphur Springs School District, Donna Borruel has successfully taught almost every elementary school grade. Donna has an extensive background in early childhood development; her avid research and practical experience inform both Sunshine Child Care's and Legacy Christian Academy's comprehensive curriculum. As the co-founder of both prestigious organizations, Donna has pioneered a signature accelerated academic program that is balanced by a wide scope of enrichment opportunities. Her devotion to the students and families she serves is as evident as her ever-present smile. Tim and Donna are the proud parents of three grown children.

Dr. Matthew Northrop


Matthew Northrop, Ed.D., developed his administrative acumen at the highly-acclaimed Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California, where he served as the dean of students. Prior to his leadership position at Oaks, Matt was the dean of students at Maranatha High School in Pasadena from 2006 to 2012. He also spent eight years in the classroom as a History teacher at Maranatha. Matt completed his undergraduate work at Azusa Pacific University, received his MA from CSUN and earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Pepperdine University. On the side, Matt also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Matt and his wife, Rachel, have been married for over 10 years and are proud parents of two boys.

Stacie Zorichak

Director of Academic Affairs

Since 2011, Stacie Zorichak has provided meticulous academic oversight of classroom instruction, teacher preparation, and curriculum implementation as Legacy's director of curriculum. In 2003, Stacie joined the Legacy Christian team as a second-grade teacher. She then taught third, fourth and sixth grade at the academy. Her vast knowledge of Legacy curriculum and pedagogy is a great resource to new teachers, aiding in their efforts to provide the best accelerated student learning experience in Santa Clarita and beyond. Stacie earned her undergraduate degree and teaching credential from The Master's College and her Master of Science degree in Education with a specialization in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

Matt Millett

Director of Activities and Spiritual Life

Matt Millett oversees all Legacy Christian Academy student activities, as well as campus life and special events . His dedication to ensuring that each Legacy student receives a well- rounded education is evident in the resources and time he invests in designing extracurricular activities to suit every interest and ability. Overseeing the chapel program and teacher devotions, Matt directs students and instructors in their spiritual journey. Prior to joining Legacy Christian Academy in 2008, Mr. Millett spent seven years directing two Sunshine Child Care after school facilities. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible Exposition from The Master's College and is pursuing his teaching credential. Matt and his wife Jamie have four children.

Stephanie Niednagel

Director of Academic Instruction

Stephanie Niednagel is a part-time administrator specializing in professional development, staff training, and curriculum development. She researches trends in the field of education and instructs teachers on curricular shifts and best- practice strategies. After completing her teaching credential, Stephanie finished all graduate coursework for her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Education. Stephanie has been teaching for over 20 years and has a breadth of experience in private, public, and homeschool education. Before joining the Legacy administration in 2010, Stephanie taught upper elementary and secondary classes, teacher training workshops, and teacher education courses at the collegiate level.
