Legacy educates students' hearts as well as their minds. We are committed to fostering compassion, awareness, and responsible citizenship in the next generation. Legacy provides regular opportunities for students to give time, talent, and practical gifts to others in the community and beyond. These opportunities include:

Operation Christmas Child

Students fill a shoebox with basic necessities and gifts for a child of a similar age and gender. These shoeboxes are sent through a relief organization to children in third world countries at Christmastime.

Sponsor-a-Child Coin Drive

Legacy sponsors one to three children from third world countries each year through World Vision. Students deposit coins in a classroom treasury during a month-long coin drive to support these children. Students are able to correspond with the sponsored children through letters.

Senior Visitations

Groups of students visit local senior citizen homes to bring cards, artwork, smiles, and a bit of joy. Students also perform songs for the residents.

Canned Food Drive

Student brings in canned food for needy families. The food is organized in baskets and distributed to the families through a local food pantry.

Letters to Troops

Legacy students write letters to American troops stationed overseas. These letters include encouraging words and messages of care and appreciation.

Morning Drop-off Program

Upper grade students arrive early to assist other children out of cars during Legacy's morning drop-off routine.

Legacy's 4th-8th graders participate in a special community service program. These students perform their community service outside of school hours. Each student's hours and projects are recorded. Students are recognized at the end of the school year for completion of their service requirement.
