Legacy Extra-curricular Activities
A Wide Range of Fun Learning Activities
Legacy provides a variety of academic and interest-based extra-curricular activities to enrich student learning and build student connectedness on campus.
Reading Programs
Two Legacy programs specifically promote reading for pleasure and comprehension. The Accelerated Reader program tracks student progress in comprehension after reading books at the designated reading levels. Students receive recognition for passing computerized quizzes and advancing reading levels.
The R.E.A.D. program (Read, Enjoy And Discover) is open to students in grades 1-8. Students document minutes they read outside of school and are rewarded with certificates, recognition, and prizes for their efforts.

Lunchtime Clubs
Legacy offers several seasonal lunchtime clubs to upper grade students. The Geography Club meets for eight weeks in the fall to explore different continents. The Science Olympiad Club gathers for eight weeks in the winter and prepares participants to enter the regional competition of the National Science Olympiad. The Java Book Club meets three in the spring to read, discuss and vote for books contending for the California Young Readers Medal. Additional clubs are available to middle school students.

Legacy hosts four yearly contests to encourage academic pursuits:
The Speech Contest (3rd-8th grades)
Geography Bee (4th-8th grades)
Spelling Bee (2nd-8th grades)
