Spiritual life at Legacy

Training hearts and minds for Christian leadership and service.

Bible Classes

We are committed to a distinctly Christian education that provides an environment emphasizing the teaching and appreciation of God's Word as it applies to students' studies and to their character. We have a seminary-trained Bible teacher who instructs the students each week. Each lesson is exciting and age appropriate.

Classroom Devotions

Teachers also integrate the Bible in subject areas as well as instill Christian-like behavior in all students by sharing a morning devotional and having classroom prayer time. Legacy's character education program also focuses on monthly character traits that are reinforced through Bible verses, role playing, and classroom activities.

Chapel

Chapel occurs on Fridays. We invite quality local pastors to teach God’s Word to our students according to the year’s theme. This year’s chapel theme is Searching for Wisdom as for Hidden Treasure” from Proverbs 2:1-6. Past themes have included "The Fruit of the Spirit”, "Who is God”, "Truth for Youth: A Study in Proverbs”, and "The Teachings of Jesus.” The entire student body gathers together for a time of singing worship songs, led by a talented group of musicians. Character awards are also given out to nominated students. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our chapel times.

Winter Camp

Winter Camp is a time for the junior high students and staff to go away on a retreat for three days. It is designed to deepen relationships, make memories, and grow spiritually. Each day is packed full of teaching, singing, playing, and hanging with friends. Each year we go to Pinecrest Christian Center located near Lake Arrowhead. The theme of our camp is "Taste and See”, taken from Psalm 34:8, and our speaker encourages the students to experience the goodness of God.

Kindergarten University

Legacy Christian Academy is dedicated to assisting parents in building strong marriages and strong families. We believe solid children come from solid families, and it is our goal to come alongside families in the parenting process by providing solid biblical instruction in the areas of marriage and parenting. Each of these series feature trained expositors of God's Word who are able to clearly teach the Word of God and make it applicable to family living. These events are free to the public and childcare is provided for children 5 years and older while the United Coffee and Dessert are for current Legacy families. Kindergarten University is planned for Kindergarten families but is open to any Legacy family.

Discipleship Groups

Each Friday, the junior high students break into discipleship groups. These groups are designed to encourage spiritual growth and accountability. Boys and girls are separated and paired with a staff member, who leads discussion The current curriculum is ‘The Story: Teen Edition: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People. Past resources have included "Do Hard Things” and "Beautiful Girlhood”.

Outreach

Students have various opportunities to show the love of Christ to others. We currently partner with Operation Christmas Child, various disaster relief funds, The Michael Hoefflin Foundation, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Jump Rope for Heart, Deaf-Blind, Deaf-Blind Ministry, and the City of Santa Clarita.

Staff Devotions

Additionally, the staff gathers for regular prayer and devotions each month.  This time allows us to focus on our spiritual growth and pray for the needs of the school.
