Dr. Harleen Grewal’s Story

When I was nine years old, my parents brought me to the United States for the first time. Like so many families before us, we visited Washington, D.C. I still have a photograph of myself standing in front of the U.S. Capitol, a moment that left a lasting imprint on my heart. Even then, I knew this was the America I wanted to be part of.

Years later, in 2008, I returned to this country alone. I built my life here, pursued my education, and proudly became a naturalized American citizen. I am deeply grateful for this nation, its Constitution, and the opportunities it provides. Patriotism, to me, is lived through service, leadership, and responsibility.

Serving Our Community

Today, I am deeply involved in our local Santa Clarita community. I give back through supporting local non-profits, volunteering at my children’s school, and rallying behind local candidates who share our values. I believe in keeping Santa Clarita the safe, family-friendly community we all love, and that starts with engaged citizens who show up and lead.

Our Mission

This scholarship is designed to create meaningful, life-changing experiences, specifically opportunities for students to travel to Washington, D.C., tour the U.S. Capitol and the White House, and witness firsthand the foundations of our republic. These moments shape character, ignite purpose, and cultivate leadership.

Our hope is that students who benefit from this scholarship grow into principled leaders who love this country, understand its history, value civic duty, and feel called to serve something greater than themselves.
